Built on Hope. Rooted in Purpose.

The women who built one of the fastest growing wine brands of this generation started without a vineyard, a winemaker, or a winery. Against all odds, but with ONEHOPE.

Meet Tiffany, Kristen, and Sarah who co-founded ONEHOPE over 12 years ago from a public storage unit with five other founders. These powerhouse women started in their early 20’s selling wine out of their cars, and now they’re making it easier for thousands of women to work from home. A few years ago they brought in rockstar winemaker Mari Wells Coyle, to be the VP of winemaking and also run the new winery they’re building in the heart of Napa. The co-founders and the brand they’ve built have been recognized by many top publications including: Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Forbes, Inc, Entrepreneur and more. It is a favorite among notable celebrities, tastemakers and wine aficionados alike; it has even been served on Air Force One since 2011. So, how did these founders go from 100 cases in a public storage unit to one of the Top 250 largest wineries of 10,000+ in the US and over 1.5M bottles sold a year? We sit down with them to ask a few questions about how they got started, where they are now, and where they’re going.

Q: What is ONEHOPE?

A: Tiffany- ONEHOPE is a Napa Valley winery built on hope and rooted in purpose. Through wine tasting experiences we empower people to share wine and give hope. Our vision is a world where all women are empowered to create the future they envision.

Q: Does that mean only women drink ONEHOPE?

A: Sarah- Men also love our great wine and our vision to empower women; they really connect with what we’re all about. Our other three co-founders are all men who share the same purpose, mission and vision with us.

ONEHOPE Wine Founders

Q: What makes ONEHOPE different from other traditional wine brands that are next to you in Napa like Opus One, Nickel and Nickel, or Caymus?

A: Kristen- Well, we have quite a few things that stand out about us when you line us up next to our neighbors. Our mission to share wine and give hope is what truly makes us special. Every bottle gives back to a different nonprofit with over $5M donated to date. From planting a forest in Indonesia to funding over 3 million meals for children in need, we love to pour it forward. But it’s not just the cause, it is also the People

First, none of us who started this company had any family in the wine business. Additionally, unlike most of our competitors in a traditionally male-dominated industry, the company is over 50% female, and we have approximately 5,000 more women around the nation that share our wine through at-home wine tastings and online fundraisers. We call them “Cause Entrepreneurs” and they are our story tellers, and the people who have really built this brand alongside us.

After that, I’d say our Products. We make 90+ point wines sourced from the greatest wine regions, which are produced by one of the most talented winemakers in the world: Mari Wells Coyle.

Another thing that’s different about us is our state-of-the-art Technology. We’ve built the best eCommerce and sales software in the wine industry, which allows us to make data-driven decisions that makes our customers’, hosts’ and Cause Entrepreneurs’ experiences better.

Last but not least, is our Quick and Free Shipping: All of our subscribers get free shipping, and standard customers can also take advantage of the best rates in the industry. On average we take 2-3 days to get to your doorstep by ground.

Q: What do all of you do for ONEHOPE, and how long have you been working there?

A: Tiffany- I’m a Co-founder at ONEHOPE, so I’ve been here since day 1. I’m also the President and I’m on the Board of Directors. All three of us started our career with the largest wine company in the world right out of college, before leaving a couple years later to start ONEHOPE. Over 12 years later, I’m still doing what I love. I’m also married and a proud mother of two, my daughter Blaire and son Otis. We live in Huntington Beach.

A: Kristen- In addition to being a Co-founder, I’m also our EVP of National Partnerships and the Executive Director of the ONEHOPE Foundation. I’m a Scottsdale native, and I moved back to Arizona when we decided to expand beyond California. I’m married and a proud mother to two daughters, Jessica and Allie.

A: Sarah- I’m also a Co-founder at ONEHOPE and our EVP of Sales. I oversee all of our wholesale distribution (restaurants, hotels, wine shops, etc.) as well as our Inside Sales team that handles corporate sales and gifting. I’m also very involved with our Cause Entrepreneur community. I live in Walnut Creek, California with my husband and three daughters Cecilia, Olivia and Isabelle.

Q: You mentioned the phrase “Democratizing the Napa Valley Wine tasting experience?” Can you explain what you mean by this?

A: Sarah- We mean bringing that experience you get when you visit Napa, Sonoma or the other great wine regions of the world. When you go into a tasting room, you get to hear the brand story from someone who is educated on wine and the brand. It’s quite a memorable experience. But not everyone can afford to make it to Napa, and even if they can, it might just be once every few years. So we provide the tools to bring that memorable wine experience, that education, and that fun to people all over the country.  Our goal this year is to bring tens of thousands of Napa Valley-style wine tastings to your home.

Q: I understand you empower people to work from home, how does that work?

A: Tiffany- Well, it’s a career or side hustle where you can make your own hours and work from anywhere. If you have a phone or a computer, we give you the tools, software, and training to really run your business remotely, on your own schedule. Flexibility to work from home, a coffee shop, or the beach on any given day is one of the most unique things.

Q: Can people make a full-time income off of this, or is it just for people who love wine and want to have fun?

A: Sarah- All of the above. We do have people who make a full- time income, some even over six figures, and most knew nothing about wine before coming to us. But some do it for part-time income or to make enough to pay a portion, or all, of their mortgage or car payment. Lastly, there are also people who just do it just for fun; to learn about wine and make an impact while making friends.

Q: How much impact do these wine events make?

A: Kristen- Last year we helped hosts raise over $1M and to date we’ve donated to over 10,000 different local nonprofits through wine tastings around the country. Hosts can raise money for a breast cancer walk, their kid’s school, a natural disaster, and so much more. As a company we’ve donated over $5M through our wine sales, and have helped our charitable partners raise many millions more through sponsorship and awareness. We’ve funded over 3 million meals, 80,000 pet adoptions, and over 100,000 trees in reforestation projects. Not to mention we built our first school last year and funded 3 more recently!

Q: Do you only sell through at-home wine tastings and online?

A: Sarah- No, although in-home wine tastings and online fundraisers are our #1 sales channel and marketing strategy, we also sell through thousands of restaurants, hotels and fine wine shops around the nation.  If you don’t know a Cause Entrepreneur or a host you can still go to ONEHOPEwine.com and buy direct.

Q: Do you work with corporate customers?

A: Sarah- Yes we have a great corporate gifting program and work with companies ranging from Google to local real estate agents. When we open the winery in July we will also have one of the top spots in wine country when it comes to private food and wine events.

Q: How do I join the community as a Cause Entrepreneur?

A: Tiffany- It’s super easy! First watch this short Opportunity Video – it is a great tool to learn about us. Then visit our Join page and click the “Learn More” button on the if you’d like to talk with one of our opportunity specialists on the phone. If you’re ready to go and don’t want to make a call, you can just click “Enroll Now” and we will connect you with a mentor, and you can start earning an income and making an impact with us today!

Q: Do you have an annual event or any exciting incentive trips you do?

A: Kristen- Yes! The top earners are all going to Mexico this year on us. We also have trips to Napa and other destination incentives we provide. Coming up in July is CRUSH 2020, our annual event held in Scottsdale this year, where we bring the entire community together for education, fun and inspiration! We unofficially refer to this as “wine camp!”

At home wine tasting

Q: What if I just want to host a wine event and see how my friends and I like the wine?

A: Kristen- I’m so happy you asked! Visit our Host page and learn more about what hosting a wine tasting at your home or office entails. You can also read more about how you can raise donations and earn rewards, all while getting a wine education and having tons of fun!
